Differentiation is an instructional model that is designed to keep our learners in mind. No one learns the same, therefore they shouldn't be taught the same. Instead, learners should be a part of a classroom where instruction takes place in both whole group and ever changing small groups. In a differentiated classroom, strengths should be built upon and weaknesses overcome with activities that teach to understand. Teachers should recognize diverse learners in a differentiated classroom and provided them with experiences and tasks that will improve learning. Differentiation takes learners on a unique learning journey. Many different paths are taken, but at the end of the journey, learning takes place!
